Volkswagen Golf offers 'sleek styling'

The new version of the Volkswagen Golf provides motorists with the sleekest of stylings, according to a US cars website.

Volkswagen's Golf VI, as the 2010 Volkswagen Golf is known, delivers an "all-new" look inside and out, reports Frank Markus, writing for MotorTrend.com.

The "upscale look" of the new Volkswagen Golf includes strong horizontal themes in the front and rear designs, he suggests, while a pronounced shoulder just below the windowsills "catches the light and lends a butch, bulldog stance on the road".

And the "icing on the cake" for Mr Markus is the fact that the new Volkswagen Golf comes in at around 20lbs lighter, despite the new sound dampening measures incorporated into the design.

Meanwhile, the good news for motorists here is that the writer points out the European-spec Volkswagen Golf simultaneously delivers "impressive performance" and efficient fuel consumption figures.

The Volkswagen Golf was revealed to be the most popular car in Europe in a recent survey from JATO Dynamics, with nearly 60,000 models sold in September.
