Drivers with used Toyota cars have been told that the new Auris Hybrid hatchbacks are ready to serve as pool cars employed by solar power company EvoEnergy.

A total of 12 of the T4 models, manufactured in the UK, will be delivered to EvoEnergy as pool cars for sales staff and project managers.

"Our aim is to facilitate everyone to benefit from green solar energy and, in line with that objective, we are trying to limit our environmental impact across our business, especially when we go out on the road," said Dr Kevin Hard, chief executive officer of EvoEnergy.

The Auris Hybrid, the only petrol-electric full hybrid car in its class, allows used car drivers to benefit from no road tax and reduced fuel consumption, as well as standard features like climate control air conditioning and push-button start.

Earlier this year, Toyota announced that airport taxi service Checker Cars had taken delivery of the first part of an order for 80 Prius cars.ADNFCR-2576-ID-800565133-ADNFCR
