Peugeot is set to reinvigorate the saloon car market after unveiling its second concept of the year - the 5.

Set for preview at the Geneva Motor Show, which starts on Thursday, the car has been judged by reviewers as a return to the large executive saloon market and a replacement for the out-of-favour 607.

According to Auto Express, the model will also boast strong eco-friendly features, such as a 200bhp diesel-electric hybrid engine with 99g per kg CO2 emissions, or zero when in battery-only mode.

"As with the recent SR1, the contours of the 5's bodywork flow smoothly and without interruption, from the end of the bonnet to the top of the boot lid. The lights frame a unique grille design, also influenced by the SR1," a review in the publication read.

Fans of Peugeot cars may also be interested to learn that one of the high street's raunchier stores, lingerie outlet Ann Summers, has chosen the 107, 207 and 308 models for its party hosts.ADNFCR-2576-ID-19646702-ADNFCR
