Peugeot 108 TOP! Cabrio

Summer might be drawing to a close, but British drivers are renowned for their love of the bracing winter’s air. This is what Peugeot must be thinking as they launch the drop-top variant of the dinky 108.

For those wishing to avoid the drizzle, the new cabrio will offer a retractable fabric roof, which can impressively open and close even at motorway speeds. It is available in three colours – black, grey or purple berry. This reflects the French giant’s focus on a younger customer base for its baby hatch.

Whilst, somewhat predictably, commanding a premium over the conventional car, it is not exhaustive with a starting price of £10,995, translating as an £850 increase over the standard 108.

Alike to the hatchback, the TOP! is powered by Peugeot’s three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine. Producing 82bhp, it is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. A 1.0L is also available, as is the optional 2-Tronic robotised-manual transmission.

The new drop-top is available in both three and five-door formats and offers three trim levels – Active, Allure and the special edition Roland Garros.

Continuing the trend towards added personalisation, buyers can spec their TOP! with an extensive range of optional extras, individualising both exterior and interior, such as with bold two-tone body colours.

Peugeot are encouraging customers to opt for the 108 TOP! through their ‘Just Add Fuel’ scheme. This involves a monthly fixed rate payment, including three years insurance, warranty, servicing, car tax and roadside assistance.
