Nissan unveils 'groundbreaking steering technology'

Nissan is working on revolutionary technology that allows for the independent control of a vehicle's tyre angle and steering inputs.

The product is expected to be on sale within the next 12 months and could give motorists even greater control of Nissan cars.

It will read a driver's intentions from steering inputs and then control the vehicle's tyre movements via the electronic signals it receives.

The technology should cut down on the number of "unnecessary road-generated disturbances", while drivers will be able to get a greater feel for the road when behind the wheel.

If the motor's direction alters due to the road surface, crosswinds or another reason, the system will take measures to minimise the effect of this.

Fatigue should also no longer be as big an issue because the driver's workload will be reduced dramatically, as the programme is able to analyse the road ahead and detect any upcoming changes.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801477042-ADNFCR
