Nissan is expanding its Micra range with a new N-TEC model, which will be equipped with all the latest gadgets.

Positioned between the existing Acenta and Tekna models, the new Micra N-TEC will provide buyers with more for their money but offer more technology at a reasonable price.

With prices starting from £12,400, the Micra N-TEC is now available to order. It’s powered by the same advanced engine line-up as other models in the range, which means customers can choose between the entry-level 78bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine or the supercharged 1.2-litre unit, which produces 96bhp.

The lower powered engine is also available with Nissan’s CVT automatic gearbox as an option, which is ideal for long-distance commuters or those driving around town.

The Micra N-TEC’s equipment list includes the latest-generation NissanConnect system, which is accessed via a 5.8-inch colour touchscreen display. NissanConnect includes satellite navigation and smartphone integration and also comes with advanced features such as Google Send-To-Car technology, which allows an owner to plan a journey on their PC or tablet at home or in the office and then send the instructions to the car ahead of the journey.

The N-TEC is also equipped with rear parking sensors and Parking Slot Measurement. These two features work together to help drivers find the perfect parking space. It does this by measuring parking slots and alerting the driver via a dashboard display as to whether the Micra can be safely parked in the space or not. The system can even be adjusted to account for the driver's skill - amateur, normal or expert.

Other standard technologies include automatic climate control, rain-sensing windscreen wipers and automatic headlights.

The new Micra N-TEC also gains new exterior styling elements, including 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps and rear privacy glass. Matching silver satin door mirrors and handles complete the exterior design package.

Inside, the N-TEC receives a new centre console, which is finished in gloss black and features distinctive blue stitching on the trim and leather-covered steering wheel.

The Nissan Micra N-TEC will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September 2015.
