New Peugeot 308 marks brand's 200th anniversary

Car manufacturer Peugeot has launched a new 200 brake horsepower (BHP) version of its popular 308 hatchback five-door model to mark the brand's 200th anniversary.

The vehicle will ally a turbo-charged 200 BHP THP petrol engine to a six-speed gearbox, and is able to provide good levels of performance with low CO2 emissions of 159 grammes per kilometre. It will go on sale later this month at a price of £21,995.

In a statement the group commented: "Modern, sporty and fuel efficient the, Peugeot 308 GT THP 200 is a sporty hatchback for a new era: enjoyable for day-to-day driving, equally at home transporting the family, but with the performance to put a smile on the driver's face when the opportunity arises."

The company went on to say that, customers will also get a free Nokia 5230 smartphone and mounting kit, with inbuilt satellite navigation.
