People with an interest in Mercedes cars have been invited to a special family day out this summer.

Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, is offering a range of activities to keep enthusiasts young and old entertained.

Children as young as 12 can get behind the wheel and learn to drive in a dual-control Mercedes on the site's private streets and off-road terrain.

Kids can also enter into a driving challenge competition, with the top prize being the chance to compete against 2008 Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

Meanwhile, older enthusiasts can take an expert driving lesson on the track, practising 360 degree spins and some sideways drift behind the wheel of the new Mercedes AMG.

There will also be a sneak-preview of the new Gran Turismo 5 game, while the visitor centre has every Mercedes-Benz model on display and a 3D ride simulator.

Lucy and Andy Cross from Dorset were recently celebrating their trip to a local Mercedes dealer, as they won the use of a new SLK 350 Roadster for the whole summer.
