The newest vehicle in the range of high-performance Mercedes cars is a model that "appeals to all the senses".

Mercedes believes that its new C 63 AMG Coupe combines distinctive design with a powerful engine and dynamic handling.

The car, which is set to receive an official UK launch in the summer, uses a 6.3-litre V8 engine capable of producing 457bhp and 600Nm of torque.

This powers the vehicle from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, on its way to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.

Special manufacturing processes have also been introduced to save three kilograms in weight from the drive system.

"This reduces inertia and enhances the agility and responsiveness of the high-revving, eight-cylinder naturally aspirated engine," the firm reveals.

Mercedes unveiled the C 63 AMG coupe at the Geneva Motor Show last month, along with a number of other vehicles from its 2011 range.

Visitors to the exhibition also got to see the new SLK and the biofuel-powered E 200 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY.
