Lexus has announced is set to unveil details of a "revolutionary supercar" at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Mystery currently surrounds the concept two-seater, with all set to be revealed at the prestigious event in Japan on October 21st.

Fans of Lexus cars may also be excited to note that the company will also be announcing details of a "compact-premium hybrid vehicle" known as the LF-Ch, which claims to combine "dynamic performance with very low emissions".

"Lexus defines itself as the 21st century benchmark for forward-thinking automotive luxury," the carmaker stated.

The news comes after early photographs of the front-end design of the Lexus LF-Ch emerged on the internet last month.

A hybrid hatchback, the five-door LF-Ch has electric-only driving capability, which the manufacturer hopes will allow it to take steps towards silent urban driving with zero emissions.

Unconfirmed rumours abound that the latest addition to the Lexus range could hit the production lines as early as next year.
