As the whole country gears up for the royal wedding, Lexus has announced that it has been awarded a different kind of royal appointment: as the official supplier to Prince Albert II of Monaco.

In keeping with his environmentally-friendly commitments, the prince has chosen to use a Lexus hybrid for his marriage to Charlene Wittstock on July 2nd this year.

Prince Albert II is well-known for his environmental beliefs, launching a foundation in 2006 that supports more than 150 projects that protect species and habitats around the world.

He has also taken a hand in reforming Monaco's sustainable transport policies, petitioning the government to act on lowering the environmental impact of the principality's mobility infrastructure.

Earlier this month, Lexus debuted its LF-Gh hybrid at the New York International Auto Show, signalling possible a new design direction for the marque.

The car is designed as a high-performance concept vehicle integrating advanced technologies for enhanced eco-friendliness and efficiency.ADNFCR-2576-ID-800515184-ADNFCR
