Lexus cars have changed dramatically in the last twenty years, the manufacturer has claimed.

Yet as the firm celebrates 20 years since the first Lexus cars came to the UK, it insists that it has managed to retain the luxury experience that has made the brand so popular.

Lexus claims that its current line-up, including the IS, GS, RX and LS models as well as the high-performance IS-F and LFA vehicles, are some of the most technologically-advanced and sophisticated in their class.

The firm also believes it "maintains its industry leadership" when it comes to hybrid cars.

"Lexus' product development will enter an important new phase early in 2011 with the launch of the full hybrid CT 200h, its first model for the luxury small car segment," it notes.

When announcing the pricing and specification for the CT 200h last month, Lexus suggested that in terms of the total cost of ownership, the vehicle is a class leader.
