Sales of Lexus cars are up by 18.4 per cent in the year to March.

It means the manufacturer is continuing to build on an impressive 2011 and part of the reason for this is the appeal of the CT 200h compact premium car.

In the first three months of 2012, the model posted a 68.7 per cent year-on-year hike, as motorists continue to be intrigued by it.

There are a number of active safety options available with the CT 200h, such as traction control, vehicle stability control, a brake assist system and electric power steering.

"This is the beginning of a great year for Lexus, with the summer period seeing the arrival of the all new GS 450h executive saloon," the car makers stated.

According to the company, July will also see the arrival of the updated RX 450h SUV, which recently received its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. ADNFCR-2576-ID-801337995-ADNFCR
