Kia is due to unveil its new Sportage at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor show on September 15.

Now in its fourth-generation, the new Sportage comes with a host of new features and equipment, building on the popularity of the previous model. The initial sketches point towards a dramatic, sporty-looking SUV.

With a more refined cabin, it will feature high-quality materials to ensure that the new Sportage will be Kia’s most impressive cabin to date.

The inside is reported to be equipped with a larger infotainment system, soft-touch materials and ambient lighting. This comes alongside leather sports seats and smartphone connectivity.

The new car will still boast Kia’s trademark ‘Tiger Nose’, but will feature a more rakish design, with larger alloy wheels.

With the previous-generation Sportage being one of the most successful cars in the company’s history, the new car has a lot to live up to. Thanks to high levels of kit and a seven-year warranty, the Sportage has always been popular with families as well as those looking for a little more space.

The new SUV has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring wearing heavy camouflage, perhaps hinting that Kia is intent on providing a more intense and involving drive to match the dynamic styling.

It’s highly likely that the new Sportage will be powered by a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, which can be found in the Hyundai Tucson. Though most buyers will go for the popular two-wheel-drive setup, the new edition is set to be offered with optional all-wheel-drive on 2.0-litre models.
