Kia has been handed the title of best car manufacturer by Which? for 2012.

The car maker received heavy praise for the diverse range of vehicles it has on offer at the moment, as well as the value for money it offers.

Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith said: "This is the first time Kia has made the short-list and to walk off with the title is a significant achievement."

The consumer body was impressed with the satisfaction and reliability ratings given by owners, while it also offers a seven-year warranty.

BMW, Hyundai, Skoda and Toyota were the other manufacturers in the shortlist.

Kia Motors managing director Michael Cole was delighted with the result as it represents the culmination of a lot of hard work.

He added it is even better because it is the first time Kia has been nominated for the award and Which? has such a proud history of looking after consumers.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801391241-ADNFCR
