Fiat has announced that all future Ducato models will be supplied with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) technology, anticipating possible changes to commercial vehicle safety legislation.

The Ducato range incorporates vans, minibuses, chassis cabs and combis, all of which will benefit from the new specification.

ESP technology uses a number of sensors to ensure that a vehicle is cornering correctly, applying the brakes automatically or reducing engine power when a skid is anticipated.

New Fiat vans will also feature Load Adaptive Control, Hydraulic Brake Assist and Anti-Slip Regulation system, enabling the ESP computer to operate at maximum effectiveness.

Customers will also have the option to buy vehicles fitted with Traction+, which uses the technology to improve the driving experience on challenging terrain without the higher weight and maintenance costs of a traditional 4x4.

"We have acted positively, in advance of any future legislation, and are committed to providing safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly transport solutions to businesses and fleets," said Fiat Professional UK director Sebastiano Fedrigo.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801595918-ADNFCR
