The Fiat 500 has been named city car of the year at the 2010 BusinessCar Awards.

As it gained the accolade for the second successive year, BusinessCar editor Paul Barker said the car provides a "winning formula".

He added: "Fiat looks like it's now secured this category for the long term."

Andrew Humberstone, managing director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK, expressed delight at the latest award for the vehicle, adding that the 500 has continued to sell well among both retail and fleet customers.

Meanwhile, a limited edition version of the Fiat 500 has been launched by the carmaker, sporting an eye-catching pink body paint.

Just 500 models of the Fiat 500 Pink are available, with the company claiming the vehicle could become this year's "must-have fashion item".

The Fiat 500 Pink costs £11,700 on the road and is available exclusively online.
