Christmas 'best for used car bargains'

Now is the best time to find used car bargains, it has been claimed.

Good deals have typically been available in the run-up to Christmas and this is the case more than ever this year, according to the Guardian.

Jeff Paterson, chief car editor at industry publication Glass's Guide, told reporters that prices have been falling since October when more vehicles came on to the market.

He added that cars with a few miles on the clock can often offer the best deals.

"Buyers often have a psychological barrier when it comes to buying cars with big mileages, but they needn't," said Mr Paterson.

"In many cases these cars are just run in, and can represent real bargains."

He went on to say that buyers should ensure used cars are serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.

Last week, figures released by the BCA showed that the average value of used cars has decreased for the third consecutive month.ADNFCR-2576-ID-19511417-ADNFCR
