Volkswagen has released two new versions of its Up city car – the Street Up and the Club Up – which are now available to order.

These models are both based on top-of-the-range High Up trim, which includes front fog lights, heated front seats and a portable media system, but receive sharper styling for a premium of £610.

The chic Street Up is available in three colours – white, black and silver – and features 16-inch alloy wheels, 65% tinted glass for the rear windows and rear windscreen and silver wing mirrors (though silver cars have black mirrors). It also sports ‘Street’ decals on the bonnet, boot, roof and sides and body colour bumpers with a chrome moulding around the front fog lights.

On the inside it has a leather steering wheel, ‘up!’ scuff plates with yellow stripes, black roof lining, floor mats and unique ‘Street’ cloth upholstery.

As for the Club Up, this model is available with black or unique ‘Blueberry’ metallic paint and features 16-inch alloy wheels, silver wing mirrors and ‘Club’ badging. As with the Street Up this model features decals on its flanks, tinted glass for the rear windows and windscreen plus silver wing mirrors. The interior is similar to the Street Up too, but gains unique ‘Tartan Tonic’ upholstery.

Both cars have a three-cylinder 74bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine mated to a five speed manual gearbox and are available in three and five door body styles. Claimed fuel economy stands at 60.1mpg, with car tax weighing in at £20 per year under the current rules.

Buyers can order these two new models now ahead of first customer deliveries in March. Prices stand at £11,995 for three-door Street Up and Club Up models while five-door cars cost £12,370.
