One of the most popular family Volkswagen cars has been released with a new look for 2011.

The German manufacturer has given the Jetta a fresh design and some new technology to improve the vehicle's efficiency.

Powered by a TDi engine, the Jetta comes with stop-start technology and a battery regeneration system as standard.

Also included in the new model is ABS, the Electronic Stabilisation Programme, folding rear seat, six airbags and an MP3-compatible CD stereo.

Externally, Volkswagen has decided to extend the wheelbase of the vehicle, increasing it by 70mm. In addition, the car itself is 90mm longer.

The manufacturer has also given the bodywork a new look and redesigned the inside.

Volkswagen recently announced that two of its vehicles are set to embark on a tour of the UK to promote their 2011 incarnations.

The popular Passat and the Amarok pick-up will be accompanied by Volkswagen specialists who will talk to motorists about the changes made to the two vehicles.
