The Volkswagen up! range, which first went into production at the end of 2011 and has since won a string of awards including Scottish Car of the Year 2012's Compact category, is to welcome two new models to its line-up.

Yesterday (April 24th) the company announced the Groove up! and Rock up!, both special edition models that follow the same high-end specification as the existing High up!.

The manufacturer promises that the new vehicles should appeal to "fans of loud music, great-looking small cars and questionable puns". Both cars feature a six-speaker audio system and the carmaker's "personal infotainment device", Maps & More. Using a 1.0-litre, 75 ps petrol engine, the vehicles offer fuel economy of 60.1 mpg.

Each of the new Volkswagen cars features heated front seats, rear parking sensors, air conditioning and cruise control.

Both the Groove up! and Rock up! are available to order now, with the first UK deliveries expected by July.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801576800-ADNFCR
