Toyota car helps care home stay mobile

One care home in Berwick upon Tweed is now able to keep moving in even the toughest weather condition, thanks to a new Toyota car.

The facility has been given a top of the range RAV4 on a complimentary long-term loan from the manufacturer, allowing staff and residents of Ben's Birch Hill Residential Care Centre to travel in heavy snow.

An Active Torque Control AWD system is used by the 2.2-litre D-4D XT-R grade RAV4, which enables maximum performance no matter what the conditions may be like.

Meanwhile, safety features such as Vehicle Stability Control and ABS give the driver and their passengers reassurance that they are as secure as possible.

Ben's chief executive David Main commented: "When the weather closes in on this neck of the woods, it really closes in and the surrounding country roads can become almost impassable."

He revealed that in the past, the care home has had to borrow transport from wherever it could.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801242098-ADNFCR
