Smart announce prices and specifications for new fortwo cabrio

Smart has released prices and specifications of its new fortwo cabrio, which will be appear in showrooms from early 2016.

Available to order now, the fortwo cabrio comes with an extensive range of options to allow customers to truly make their car personal.

The electronically-operated fabric roof can be lowered or raised in 12 seconds at any road speed. It comes as standard in black, but customers can also opt for a red roof option for £115.

The fortwo cabrio can be specified in one of three model lines – passion, prime and proxy. Passion incorporates 15-inch wheels, automatic climate control and Bluetooth connectivity.

Prime offers 15-inch wheels with a high-sheen finish, along with black leather upholstery and heated seats.

Finally, proxy comes with 16-inch alloy wheels along with a blue and white interior. It also comes standard with the sport package, which incorporates a sports leather multifunction steering wheel and lowered sports suspension.

However, prime and proxy model lines do command a £695 premium over the passion model.

Customers can also upgrade any of the trims to Premium or Premium Plus packages, which, while a £795 option, adds rear parking assistance, smart media navigation and a heated steering wheel.

The premium plus package is only available on the prime and proxy models but adds ambient lighting, LED headlamps with enhance LED daytime running lights along with rain and light sensors. As an extra, it costs £1,295.

The base price for a smart fortwo cabrio passion, with 71hp engine and a manual gearbox is £13,265, rising to £15,550 for a 90hp proxy with an automatic transmission.
