Peugeot drivers urged to use speed limiter at start of term

Motorists driving Peugeot cars have been encouraged to use the speed limiter fitted to most vehicles by the manufacturer, to improve safety on the roads.

Ahead of the start of the new school term, Peugeot customers are being urged to use the limiter to restrict speeds to 20mph around residential areas and nearby schools.

Peugeot UK director of marketing Morgan Lecoupeur said: "Excessive speed is widely regarded as the number one contributor of road accidents, and keeping a speed below 20 mph makes total sense when driving in residential areas or near schools."

He added that the limiter is fitted to most new models, some of which have been commended at last month's Next Green Car awards.

The judges awarded the Peugeot iOn the City-car of 2011 award, while the Peugeot 508 Saloon e-HDi received the Large Family Car 2011 accolade.

In addition, Auto Express named Peugeot's RCZ the Best Coupe for a second time.ADNFCR-2576-ID-800717083-ADNFCR
