A leading power company has agreed a new partnership to make electric Peugeot cars easier to use.

Both residential customers and fleet managers can benefit from the new deal agreed between EDF Energy and Peugeot, which will give them access to a greater range of charging products for the all-electric Peugeot iOn.

They pair will provide a free site survey, followed by the optional installation of new recharging technology which is said to reduce power-up times by 35 per cent.

EDF Energy has also developed a smart timer system, which allows people not using their vehicle to postpone recharging until off-peak times.

Eric Salomon, energy field services director at EDF Energy, said the firm was delighted to be in partnership with the French car manufacturer.

"As Britain's largest producer of low-carbon electricity, it fits perfectly with EDF Energy's ambitions to be a leader in low carbon solutions," he went on to say.
