The latest in high performance Mercedes-Benz cars has been unveiled by the German manufacturer.

Mercedes-Benz claims that the new CLS 63 AMG offers top-of-the-line performance, and exciting design and "groundbreaking efficiency".

The four-dour coupe comes with the new AMG V8biturbo engine that produces 557bhp, while improving fuel consumption to 28.5mpg - an increase of 32 per cent on the previous model.

A full aluminium construction helps to reduce the weight and thus increase the efficiency, while a new styling brings the car up-to-date, the firm claims.

"The new CLS 63 AMG continues the success story of the previous models, the CLS 55 AMG and CLS 63 AMG, which have delighted our customers all around the world since 2004," said Ola Kallenius, head of Mercedes-Benz AMG.

Mercedes-Benz recently announced they are to run experience days at their HQ in Weybridge, where driving enthusiasts can take new AMG cars out on the track.
