Lexus shows off new CT200h

Lexus has launched its new CT200h, which is said to offer "sporty handling, with uncompromised fuel efficiency".

Toyota's luxury car division has produced the first volume production vehicle with front and rear lateral performance dampers, while a remodelled body delivers "greater torsional rigidity", it is claimed.

However, as one might expect for Lexus' first foray into the luxury small car market, efficiency and emissions are key and therefore the CT200h is fully-hybrid drive.

It has also been developed specifically for the discerning European market.

"Far from being simply a standard hybrid in smart clothes, the new CT200h has been the subject of innovative, detailed chassis engineering to ensure that it will put a smile on the face of the driver," the company said in a statement.

The car is set to become the centre of the Lexus display at the Paris motor show before going on sale in the UK early next year.
