BBC radio DJ and television broadcaster Jo Whiley has approved the Volkswagen Caravelle as the perfect family car to take to festivals.

The Glastonbury stalwart and mother of four purchased the seven-seat Fiat car because of its favourable specifications.

She said: "There's so much space for the children and all their gear, which means they're much happier.

"We tried a Caravelle last summer and thought it was brilliant. We camped in it at festivals and it easily coped taking us all on holiday, so it was our first choice when we wanted a new car."

Featuring two individual swiveling rear seats, plenty of luggage space and a rear-facing bench for a more social feel to the car's decor, the Caravelle has also been styled on the new Polo and includes upgraded audio systems and the option of a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

Volkswagen has placed a considerable amount of emphasis on in-car entertainment of late and is set to host the App My Ride Open Innovation Contest this weekend (May 3rd).

As part of the event, developers, programmers and even used Volkswagen car owners are being invited to share ideas in the hope of developing the infotainment systems of the future.ADNFCR-2576-ID-19754674-ADNFCR
