Jeep has revealed details about a special edition of its popular Cherokee 4x4 – the ‘Night Eagle’.

Retaling at £36,795, the Night Eagle is based upon the existing Longitude ‘Plus’ trim level, but builds on this by featuring black styling cues.

The Night Eagle distinguishes itself from the rest of the Cherokee models through satin-grey elements on the grille, satin-grey fog light frames along with black gloos roof bars and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels. The car also incorporates deeply tinted sunscreen glass.

On the inside, there’s a leather steering wheel and leather upholstery, along with drivers seat that are both electronically adjustable and heated. A large 8.4-inch screen incorporates a navigation and media system.

A nine-speaker system is also provided as is cruise control, parking sensors and automatic wipers. Limited to 350 examples, the Night Eagle can be specified in four colours – Brilliant Black, Bright White, Billet Silver and Granite Crystal.

An efficient 2.2-litre turbo diesel powers the Night Eagle, sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. This gives the Night Eagle a 0-62 time of just 8.5 seconds, yet is able to achieve 49.6mpg.

Head of brand at Jeep UK Damien Dally said: “Full of style, loaded with equipment and designed to enhance Cherokee’s already strong appeal, the new Night Eagle version is particularly exclusive.”
