Infiniti Q70 price and specs announced

If you’re looking for an executive saloon that’s different from the usual German suspects, Infiniti may well have the answer in its freshly facelifted Q70 saloon.

Priced from £32,650 and rising to £44,100, the Q70 is Nissan luxury brand Infiniti’s rival to the likes of the Mercedes E-Class and hugely popular BMW 5 Series.

Of the three engines available, it is likely to be the new 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel unit that will be of most interest to British buyers. It develops 168bhp and emits 129g/km of CO2. While these are vast improvements over the outgoing motor, the Infiniti is bested by cleaner rivals like the Audi A6 Ultra, which emits CO2 at a rate of 117g/km.

Making up the petrol options are a 316bhp 3.7-litre V6 and a 3.5-litre V6 hybrid that develops 359bhp. Infiniti claims the part-electric car takes just 5.3 seconds to get from 0-62mph and yet will emit just 145g/km of CO2.

Four trim levels are offered: Premium, Premium Tech, Sport and Sport Tech. Even entry-level Premium models are fitted with LED lights, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, sat nav, heated and cooled leather seats and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Sport trim adds 20-inch alloys, bigger brakes and a subtly restyled front bumper for a more purposeful aesthetic.

Choose Tech versions of either trim level and the toy count rises, with adaptive cruise control, a more powerful stereo and a battery of electronic safety aids – including Nissan’s ‘Around-View’ 360-degree monitor – added to the list.

The Infiniti Q70 saloon is available to order now.
