Ford has continued to perform successfully throughout 2012.

According to figures provided by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, car sales for the manufacturer in October were up by 12.3 per cent year-on-year.

The Ford Fiesta was the highest-selling motor during the month and the year to date, which highlights the popularity of this model in particular.

Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain managing director, said: "It is a credit to Ford's outstanding product line-up and its dealer partners that Ford's market lead has been strengthened during this period of intense rivalry for sales."

He added the group will continue to invest in new technologies in an effort to improve its offerings and strengthen its market share.

Mr Ovenden also pointed to the new Focus ST and the B-MAX - the latter offers unique unimpeded access for front and rear passengers - as evidence of the enhancements being made.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801483753-ADNFCR
