Continental tyres 'the best of the bunch' in evo mag tests

Continental tyres may be the best choice when it comes to replacing the wheels on a newly purchased used car, following a series of tests by evo magazine.

The high-performance ContiSportContact 3 tyre was put through its paces by expert drivers working for the publication, alongside a series of competitor products.

A total of nine brands were put through eight tests and the Continental tyre came out on top.

Evo described the brand's success as an "emphatic win".

The magazine noted: "It delivered several table-topping results, the stand-out being in wet handling where it literally left the opposition in its wake.

"Showing its all-round ability, it backs this up with a best performance in both wet and dry braking and a superb result in rolling resistance."

Meanwhile, in another set of tests earlier this week, Michelin brand car tyres came out on top when compared to several other brands, including Continental.

Experiments carried out by DEKRA and TUV SUD on the Michelin 175/65 R 14T Energy Saver and 225/40 R18Y Pilot Sport 3 indicated that the two had better rolling resistance and wet braking, as well as a longer tyre life than competitor products.ADNFCR-2576-ID-19880611-ADNFCR
