17% of Brits 'enjoyed challenge of winter driving'

With insurance companies recording discernable spikes in the amount of call-outs over the last few weeks, the adverse weather has caused an increase in bumps, scrapes and indeed more serious accidents.

Nevertheless, research by Vision Critical for Green Flag revealed that 17 per cent of adults actually enjoyed the challenge of taking on the icy roads.

A quarter of male respondents admitted that they got a rush from getting behind the wheel in winter weather whereas just eight per cent of women confessed to feeling the same.

Conversely, one in five Brits admitted to have been too afraid to drive in such conditions.

With five per cent of people who actually tried to drive finding themselves unable to, Green Flag was quick to point out that such thrill-seekers may indeed be putting themselves, their passengers or other road users and pedestrians at risk - as they may lose control of their car even if they are not travelling very fast. ADNFCR-2576-ID-801529858-ADNFCR
