Founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, Aston Martin is one of the most recognisable and well established manufacturer of luxury sports cars.

In 1947, David Brown revitalised a struggling Aston Martin brand by introducing the now super classic DB range, starting with the production of the DB2 in 1950. The production of the DB4 in 1958 helped set the tone for establishing the company's reputation: And with so much reverance and adulation for one of the most famous cars in motoring history - the iconic DB5 in 1963, the Aston Martin brand remains very much at the forefront of desirable motoring.

Despite the cars' appreciation in value, over the decades the company has often been financially troubled. But in 1986 the new 25% stakeholder in Aston Martin - Victor Gauntlett, negotiated the return of James Bond to the Aston Martin brand, this time in their power house V8 Vantage. MGM Films and Cubby Broccoli were so taken by Gauntlett that he was offered the role of a KGB colonel in the Bond film 'The Living Daylights', which he gracefully declined.

Ownership of the AM brand has changed hands several times since the late 1980's, but the strength of the brand has improved its popularity as the prefered sports car of choice, which has helped it remain an A-List motoring giant. The combination of beauty, power, sporty high performance and cutting edge technology gives the Aston Martin brand a soul all unto itself.
