With snow and ice in prospect as the mercury frequently drops below zero, advanced driver Peter Rodger has issued some top tips for motorists via his road safety charity the IAM, which, if followed, can help make getting around safer in the cold weather.
Tips include checking the weather forecast before setting out, as well as carrying a range of items to deal with various eventualities - such as de-ice and a scraper.
