UK Toyota cars exempt from recalls
Motorists driving recently purchased Toyota cars in the UK need not be concerned about news of recent recalls.Certain Lexus and Toyota cars have been recalled by the manufacturer in the US, amid renewed concerns about a sticking gas pedal problem that has caused accidents among some road users.Around 2.2 million vehicles have been recalled in total, with the manufacturer committing to replace floor mats, which have been isolated as the cause of the pedal problem. However, UK Toyota car drivers can now relax, safe in the knowledge that this issue does not apply to right-hand drive models purchased in the UK.A statement by the company noted: "As part of these global campaigns, Toyota is preparing to voluntarily recall some left hand drive European Lexus RX models to address a potential issue with the fastening of the floor carpet cover."Right hand drive models have a different floor carpet set-up and do not have the same potential issue."
Motorists may have to alter their driving lifestyle because of the cost of petrol.
