Toyota car centre gets top environmental rating
The new Toyota cars centre in Enfield has been handed a top rating for its sustainability and environmental performance. As part of the company's drive to bring down the carbon footprint associated with the production and sale of Toyota cars, the Jemca Toyota Enfield site was built to the greenest standards at a cost of £11 million. The firm has employed intelligent design in areas such as energy conservation, carbon emissions, water and materials recycling and operating noise levels. This has now lead to it receiving an Excellent rating from the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM). Simon Boxall, Jemca Toyota franchise director, said: "We are immensely proud that our new centre has obtained the BREEAM Excellent certification, it is the highest recognition for what we have achieved at Enfield in terms of reducing our environmental footprint." He went on to add that this further highlights Toyota's overall commitment to driving down carbon emissions.
