Peugeot 4007 among 'best 4x4s'

One of the best performing 4x4 vehicles is the Peugeot 4007, according to Used Car Expert magazine.

The car ranks alongside 4x4 stalwarts including the Jeep Cherokee V6 Limited Auto, Mitsubishi Shogun DI-D Clssic SWB, Land Rover Discovery Td5 XS 5s and the Land Rover Range Rover V8 SuperCh Vogue.

Peugeot's 4007 GT HDi FAP model was also found to have the one of the lowest depreciation values among the best performing group - expected to fall in value by only one per cent over a 12-month period.

The 4x4 with the lowest depreciation value was found to be the Land Rover Discovery, with a zero per cent depreciation over a year.

Meanwhile, the worst performing 4x4s included the Kia Sorento CRDi XT and the Porsche Cayenne, which recorded depreciation values of 22 per cent and 28 per cent respectively over 12 months.

Commenting on the findings, editor of Used Car Expert Matthew Tumbridge said that knowing the depreciation of a vehicle can make owning a car "less stressful" in the current climate.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News earlier this month, Mr Tumbridge said that the Fiat Stilo is a "good value" purchase during the current economic climate.
