Efficient Toyota cars prove more appealing to customers
British drivers may start to plump for more efficient Toyota and Peugeot cars from approved used car dealers, following the most recent price hike.Half of Brits admit that they plan to switch to more efficient cars in light of record price rises, according to research by moneysupermarket.com.Research by the price comparison site indicates that two-thirds of motorists are feeling the pinch as a result of insurance premium and petrol pump price hikes. This could make a Prius hybrid Toyota car appear more favourable to many drivers.Commenting on the findings, moneysupermarket.com's Pete Harrison explained: "With escalating fuel prices hitting motorists hard in the pocket, I'm not surprised most are looking for ways to drive down the cost of getting behind the wheel."Toyta's recently released Prius Plug-In hybrid qualifies for the ultra-low carbon vehicle grant scheme, which may appeal to cost-cutting motorists trying to save their pennies.
