Brits still in the dark over winter tyres

Many Britons are still unaware of the benefits of winter tyres, according to a leading retailer.

Research from Delticom, the European retailer trading in the UK as Mytyres.co.uk, has shown that Brits consider staying mobile during winter weather to be extremely important.

However, despite this, most have no idea what the added benefits of specialist winter tyres are.

"The principle benefits of fitting winter tyres, unlike summer tyres, they do not harden at low temperatures and that means they give much better grip on the road and the ability to stop in a shorter distance increasing safety on the road," the firm notes.

Delticom is therefore urging customers to think about staying safer during periods of snow and ice by investing in winter tyres.

GEM Motoring Assist was recently moved to warn drivers that although winter tyres provide better road grip in the snow than standard tyres, extra caution should still be taken in such conditions.ADNFCR-2576-ID-801278767-ADNFCR
