Twenty per cent of new and used car sales will take place online by 2015 as drivers seek the best prices on their favourite vehicles, it has been claimed.
Going to a car dealership in person will be replaced by online purchases, as drivers begin to realise the benefits of comparing online reviews and seeking out the best price, according to GForces.
The automotive web management company's commercial director, Tim Smith, explained: "People are more comfortable with purchasing large products online.
"Many of our clients are meeting their customers demands by moving more of the car sales functions online such as vehicle reviews, finance propositions and insurance quotations."
Recent research by Carmony.co.uk indicated that the Mazda MX5 and MG MGTF topped the list of most popular convertible used cars.
The two models took first and second place respectively, as they are the most searched-for cars on the used car website.
