It is clear that many drivers are being backed into the green corner, as fuel prices alter each month. Many campaigners (not including the truck drivers) would be happy to see fuel prices continue to rise - therefore forcing people off the roads and either on to public transport or to get around using their own steam.

Driving Green

How practical is this though? Not all cities and towns are fortunate to have a transport system like that of London and often the only practical option is to travel by car. The car also becomes a necessity when making trips with the family (particularly with young ones). A couple of kids, prams and baby changing bag can be a nightmare to navigate on and off buses.

So if you still need to drive a car, then the question still remains how do you drive green? The major car manufacturers are now switching onto being much more environmentally friendly and you can already make a real difference by choosing one of many cars already in the market.

A simple step to help the environment may be to search for a car with enough space to take your recycling to the supermarket. Steady on though, one step at a time.
